I'm having trouble buying John Gosselin's stories and I know I am not alone. I've never watched their show and I don't want to but I can't escape the story as it is unfolding all over TV, Internet, and everywhere else. They sound like they could both use some guidance on parenting and how to be good dog owners.
At first he thinks it's funny that his kids abuse the dogs then he denies the story all together and now he is saying that he has to get rid of his dogs because Kate refuses to take care of them. According to John, Kate is to blame for everything that went wrong in that marriage. Please! The man acts like she took away his free will. If he is unable to keep his commitment to being a pet owner, fine, then give the dogs back to the breeder (he is) but why does he need to blame everyone but himself for neglecting and abusing them?
This whole "I'm a victim" approach is rather pathetic. When I go on vacation, go out of town, etc. I make sure my dog either comes with me or is taken care of at home. Apparently that is more than he can handle. If they are his dogs, he should own up to the responsibility or lack of responsibility instead of holding a press conference to point the finger of blame at his wife.
Those dogs probably have a chance at a better life than the life that they were living with the Gosselins. Maybe in the end he did the dogs a favor. I just hope the breeder is more discerning in picking the dogs' next home.
