Here's her story:
Libby . . . has a complicated story and is going to need a very special home. Libby was initally transferred to ACL from a Peoria shelter where she was abdandoned with her pups. It didn't take long to figure out that this girl was perhaps the smartest dog ever to walk through ACL doors. So,for the past 6 months, Libby has been enrolled in a program for service dogs with hopes that she could become a certified helper. The program ended unexpectedly, Libby could not complete her training, so here she is back at ACL. A much better trained dog, amazing in some respects but still a special needs candidate herself. She is driven, high energy and needs a job continuously. The sky is the limit for this gal but she needs a home where she can do her job and also be in the company of people most of the time. If you are interested in Libby and have the lifestyle that can accomodate her, please come in and meet her. Included in her adoption is also some continued service dog training at a facility in the Chicagoland area.
